501c3
We received our 501c3 tax exempt status last week! This has taken a long time and a lot of work, but it puts us in a unique position that few other makerspaces are currently in, and should help tremendously in reaching our goals.
FYI – as we filed our application within the 27 month deadline, all donations to Area515 since our inception (17AUG2011) are tax deductible.
Thanks to everyone who helped put together our application and make this happen!
Elections
Quick reminder that our annual member meeting will be this Tuesday at 7:00 at Raccoon River up on the second floor.
It is important that memers try and make it to the meeting as this is our annual election. If anyone wants to throw their name in for a spot, email president@area515.org by the end of day Monday. If anyone would like to join Area515, there will be an opportunity after the meeting.
This is your chance to have your voice heard on the direction for the Space over the next year. We have a lot of exciting opportunities coming up now that we have 501c(3) status and we hope to have an announcement about a new home by then.
