Member Spotlight: Chris Johnson

Yeah, the tools and workspace are pretty awesome, but we’ve got some excellent people here too!

We wanted to highlight some of the Makers that frequent Area515 and help put some names with faces around the space. First up: get to know Chris Johnson!

Chris has been a member of Area515 for about two years. An IT guy by trade, he’s got a wealth of talents and interests, but specializes in 3D printing at Area515. He’s also very knowledgeable about woodworking and metalworking, so if you’ve got questions about how the tools in the shop work or good techniques for moving your project along, Chris would love to answer them!

In addition, Chris is passionate about mentoring and teaching people to use the tools at the space. When asked if there was anything he could let new or potential members know about the space and community, he said that no matter what you’re interested in, you’ll find a kindred spirit at the space who’s also interested, and likely someone who’s got some experience and can help you with a new project. We’re a pretty close community, even if we don’t all specialize in the same thing.

In short, Chris is a really cool guy who would love to help you learn more about 3D printing, woodworking, or metalworking. If you’re at the space during any events, you’re likely to see him building another printer or helping other members, so go say hi! He won’t bite…probably.
