The Prusa

The Prusa.jpg

This is the workhorse of the space, it is rare to find it idle. We purchased it as a MK3 and later upgraded it to a MK3S when we got the MMU2S upgrade in. The MMU was installed and then reverted when we had difficulties with bugs in the software. We plan to reinstall it on a later date to test it again.

How to use

Much of the printing process is automated on this machine. Slicing profiles are pre-made by Prusa Research, and the printer is capable of fully calibrating itself.

Unloading filament

To unload filament you click on the encoder wheel to open the menu, scroll down to the "Unload Filament" option, select it, and then select the type of filament you will be loading or unloading. Once it heats up it will prompt you to click in the encoder wheel to unload.

Loading filament

Loading filament is as simple as inserting it into the hole on the top of the extruder. If the hotend is not preheated, it will prompt you to select the material you are loading.

Turning off the heaters

If you need to shut off the heaters click in the encoder wheel, scroll down to the "Preheat" menu, scroll all the way to the bottom and select "Cooldown".
