First First Friday Followup
Posted On February 9, 2015
We had our first ever First Friday event this last week. Nate Cline was brave enough to take the first speakers’ slot and showed us some of his awesome art, jewelry, and lights he made out of discarded technology. He also shared some of the techniques and methods he uses to create his pieces. It was an excellent way to open the series!
Our next First Friday will be March 6th at 7pm and will feature Jeff Reiland of Abundant Design, a landscaping company based in Waukee. Jeff will share with us hardscape and garden structures he has built!

Wow…nice! I hope some of that recyclable tech I dropped off was useful for this. I have a bit more if anyone wants. I wonder if it would be possible to make some kind of tie clip like this? (Stuck wearing ties at new job)
Nate collects his own materials for his work. Right now, we can’t handle the extra stuff at the space. We recently had a flood from above and some furniture upgrades, so we’re focusing on getting all of that sorted! Thank you for thinking of us!
Yeah, heard about the flood…haven’t been able to make it down since. I like to contribute what I can. I’d tear some of this stuff down myself, but as my wife continuously points out I don’t have the time to tear it apart, or work on anything I could use the parts for :(. I’ll try to poke through what I have at some point and post a list in case anything’s worth something to someone…otherwise it’s going to recycle. Planning on moving soon and need to get stuff outta the house so we can show it!
